North Korea Continues Building Its Nuclear Research Facility

North Korea continues building its nuclear research facility, according to monitor report disclosed on Monday.

Despite committing a promise to step up forwards to denuclearize the peninsula, in the Singapore summit with US President, Donald Trump, the nuclear-armed, North Korea leader Kim Jong Un is noticed carrying out the major improvements in the country’s nuclear research facility.

The Singapore meeting appears failed to meet its aim to define denuclearization and creating particular timeline to dismantle atomic weapons arsenal of North Korea. While US President Trump last week claimed that the process of denuclearization would start soon, as a total denuclearization has is already taken place.

Satellite imagery report said that, “Commercial satellite imagery from June 21 indicates that improvements to the infrastructure at… Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center is continuing at a rapid pace. But continued operations at the site should not be seen as having any relationship with North Korea’s pledge to denuclearize. Nuclear officials could be expected to proceed with business.”

According to the most recently obtained satellite imagery, North Korea is not only continuing operating its major Yongbyon nuclear site, but also carrying out the work for its infrastructure. Last month, the country blew up its older Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site, where six atomic tests were planned.

Experts warned that, “Continued work at the Yongbyon facility should not be seen as having any relationship to North Korea’s pledge to denuclearize. The North’s nuclear cadre can be expected to proceed with business as usual until specific orders are issued from Pyongyang.”
